WINE PAIRING

So what is Wine Pairing?  Wine pairing is when gourmet appetizers and desserts are paired with a wine that will complement the flavors of the food with that of the wine. In addition to the wine and food, there is usually an auction of wonderful items. 

In the past, the event attracted several hundred guests who stayed the afternoon and had a wonderful time moving from booth to booth trying the many attractive combinations. Needless to say, all of the Club's Wine Pairing Events have been a huge success.

What does the Club do with the proceeds from the Event?  The Rotary Club of Vandenberg Village will select a worthy local agency project to partner with for the event.  In past  years the selected agency was the Lompoc Convalescent Care Center for the Alzheimer's Walk and Park.  The proceeds were used to complete a fence around the park and place beautiful cement picnic tables for use by the patrons of the center.  A percentage of the proceeds are used to fund other community projects supported each year by the club.

Will there be a Wine Pairing Event in 2011/12?  The Rotary Club of Vandenberg Village is looking into that possibility.  In the past, the public has strongly supported the activity, and  if done,  proceeds will used for a new community project that will benefit Lompoc Valley.
